Kindred Ink is a ghostwriting and editing team that specializes in nonfiction books. Kindred Ink & AI

For many writers, editors, and freelance content producers, AI is seen as either a threat or a shortcut. It's a nebulous innovation that some believe could replace us.

We're not worried about that.

At Kindred Ink, we will never deliver you writing developed by AI. Writing is what we love, and we're not willing to outsource the parts of the job we love most to a program only designed to mimic creativity. That's not to say we never use AI at all; it can be a helpful tool in ways that do not affect the quality of what we deliver.

Examples of ways we might use AI during projects:

Automatic transcription of interviews
Manuscript analysis (letting AI read a manuscript and then take its best guess at the main ideas and arguments, providing us with a clearer idea of how strongly we've presented those ideas)
Clever labels and names: giving a concept to AI and asking it for fun naming conventions we can use as a brainstorming tool
Organizing information (pulling specific content from the interviews and placing it into our developed outlines)
